As a Property Claim Representative , you will be part of the core property team working in a hybrid model in our Home Office. You will be responsible for handling an assigned volume of low to moderate complex Personal and Commercial lines first-party property claims. How You’ll Make an Impact Manage assigned volume of 1st party Property claims within Personal and Commercial underwriting verticals. Assist other Claims lines of business in assessing and investigating 3rd party Property Damage claims. Perform in-depth investigations, manage dispute resolution activity, and participate in CAT claims handling as needed. Occasionally complete local onsite field inspections and handling as assigned. Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle assigned claims within authority limits. Develop and follow strategic action plans throughout the life of the file. Provide proactive hospitality by appropriately setting expectations, building rapport, and responding to requests timely. Build relationships and appropriately communicate with agency partners, internal and external stakeholders. Implement proper recognition, investigation, referral, and communication regarding subrogation. Detect and mitigate fraud when investigating claims. Set accurate initial reserve in a timely manner and continually review accuracy in the context of ultimate probable exposure. Maintain appropriate file expenses containment and utilize approved suppliers. Assist team development with subject matter expertise learning, onboarding assistance, and assisting supervisor as needed. Complete training as assigned including advanced property training. Handle special projects as assigned. Participate in claim-sponsored workshops, training sessions, claims roundtables, and resolution strategy sessions. What You’ll Bring Ability to obtain and maintain all required state department of insurance adjusting licenses and CE’s within 90 days of employment. Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience, or Associates degree and 3 years of related experience, or 4 years of related experience. Travel as needed. Possess a positive, professional, cooperative, and quality-conscious service attitude. Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to execute complex coverage analysis and resolution strategies. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to manage external suppliers assigned to claims. Ability to professionally interact with our customers. Ability to investigate, gather facts and information, and analyze coverage. Possess an innovative and continuous improvement mindset. Ability to work under pressure, deal with interpersonal conflict, and handle a heavy workload. Possess verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills. Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes. Understand and utilize various resources including technology and tools. Comply with state regulatory/statutory requirements, corporate privacy, and other claim policy requirements. Preferred Property claims experience and/or construction experience. Knowledge of Verisk (Xactimate and Xactanalysis) estimating platform.
