Job Summary

Developmental Pathways Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Billing Specialist to join our corporate office team. As a key member of our billing department, you will play a crucial role in improving our current billing procedures and supporting our billing functions and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and manage denied/unpaid claims to ensure timely resolution
  • Communicate with insurance companies to reprocess claims at the appropriate rate(s)
  • Perform eligibility and benefit verifications per company standards
  • Assist with billing projects and initiatives as needed
  • Review and analyze unpaid claims exceeding 60 days to ensure timely payment
  • Meet deadlines and expectations for billing tasks and projects
  • Provide regular updates to the billing management team regarding work status and obstacles
  • Attend billing staff meetings as requested
  • Analyze and report on insurance collection data to inform business decisions

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in medical billing or a related field
  • Experience with ABA service codes and Office Ally software preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and direct management team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
