Growing childcare group is looking for a Human Resources Specialist to help assist with the management of employee files, benefits, and general office help.

Position is office based in Glastonbury.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (32 hours per week)

GENERAL DUTIES:

Prepares and posts all job descriptions and vacancies.

Maintains all personnel and office files.

Coordinate staff onboarding processes.

Administer all employee benefit programs including enrollments/changes. Collaborate with insurance carrier to research and resolve claims issues, implement plan changes, and serve as a resource person for employee benefits programs.

As needed does client/customer follow up

Administers and track all requests for leave.

Manage worker's compensation processes.

Assist with disciplinary matters.

Manage unemployment claims.

Trains company center directors on new company processes and procedures

Performs other office duties as assigned by the CEO.

Duties:

Assists with the implementation and management of ADP Workforce now and performance management system for entire company employees.

Participates in recruitment of all staff. Reviews resumes for candidates when assigned. Interviews nonexempt and exempt candidates for employment when assigned.

Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.

Maintains employee-related information.

Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

Participates in the conduct of investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.

Provides payroll processing backup support. Reviews payroll for quality assurance. Partners with accounting and payroll to maintain the payroll database.

Assists with benefits administration services.

Processes various benefits and employment forms and provides information concerning all health and welfare and fined benefit plans; and assist with open enrollment.

Acts as liaison between Workers Comp/Health Ins/Life/AD&D/Unemployment/403(b)/Flex Spending brokers and Agency.

Helps to monitor the organization's culture so that it supports the attainment of the company's goals and promotes employee satisfaction.

Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the senior leadership team.

Requirements:

Minimum four (4) years experience in Human Resources, Business, or equivalent.

Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required.

Excellent computer proficiency in MS Office and windows.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Always maintains a high level of confidentiality.

Ability to work with all levels of staff.

Two plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources to include employee relations and compliance.

Specialized training in employment law, employee relations, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.

Effective oral and written communications.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate positively and sensitively to employees who come from a wide range of personal, social, cultural, ethnic, racial, educational, and professional backgrounds.
