Claims Customer Support Specialist

This role is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their skills in claims management while providing exceptional customer service. The Claims Customer Support Specialist operates under general oversight and reports directly to a Team Leader or Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service and claims management efficiently by executing essential adjudication tasks, including the assessment, settlement, or denial of claims based on coverage and proof of loss.
- Offer exemplary call center support to Travel Insured clients and travel agents, while also assisting claims unit personnel in achieving service objectives.
- Manage daily phone coverage for the Claims 800 number, aiding customers in initiating claims, advising on necessary documentation, and guiding them through the submission process.
- Provide precise and timely responses to routine inquiries, ensuring all interactions are documented accurately in the appropriate systems.
- Document complex inquiries and claim status updates, forwarding them to the relevant claims unit member.
- Meet and surpass Key Performance Indicators, including departmental goals and service standards.
- Contribute professional feedback to management regarding training needs on a global scale.
- Participate as a member of the disaster recovery call center team.
- Perform additional related duties as required to support job and unit objectives.
- Act as a customer advocate in all interactions to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with cloud-based systems.
- Knowledge of claims, imaging, and workflow systems is advantageous.
