Job Description

Brightspeed is looking for a Billing Analyst to join our team As Billing Analyst, you will report directly to the Billing Supervisor. You will be responsible for analyzing billing data, conducting audits, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of billing processes. Your role is crucial in maintaining customer satisfaction and optimizing revenue streams by identifying discrepancies, resolving billing issues, and supporting the billing operations team. You will work with complex billing systems, perform data analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate billing procedures.

As a Billing Analyst, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Review and analyze billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards
  • Conduct regular audits of billing records to identify discrepancies and errors.
  • Investigate and resolve billing inquiries and disputes, collaborating with customer service and sales teams when necessary
  • Assist in implementing system enhancements and updates to improve efficiency and data accuracy
  • General billing reports and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes
  • Work with the billing operations team to troubleshoot and resolve billing system issues
  • Monitor billing-related KPI and reports on trends and anomalies
  • Support the development and testing of new billing products and services
  • Collaborate with other departments, including finance and IT, to streamline billing processes to ensure data integrity
  • Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to billing and revenue recognition
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance billing processes and systems
Qualifications

What It Takes To Catch Our Eye:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent work experience
  • Three years of experience as a billing analyst
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex billing data and identify patterns or discrepancies
  • Proficiency in using billing software and ERP systems
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to propose effective solutions to billing-related issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teams across the organization
  • Familiarity with industry-specific billing regulations and revenue recognition principles
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of SQL or other data querying languages is a plus
