Position Overview:

The Lead Revenue Analyst is accountable for overseeing revenue and settlement operations within the renewable energy sector, specifically focusing on wind and solar assets. This role entails a comprehensive analysis of data from both internal and external sources, as well as the interpretation of contractual agreements. Key responsibilities include validating and reconciling settlement information, executing monthly financial closings, and liaising with various stakeholders. Additional duties encompass quarterly financial reporting, aiding in the annual audit process, performing account reconciliations, and managing subledger to general ledger mappings. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in revenue accounting standards and possess a meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine Power Purchase Agreements to ascertain billing and accounting implications.
  • Analyze and cross-reference contract stipulations with transaction specifics to identify discrepancies or suggest modifications.
  • Reconcile billing activities with counterparties and independent system operators, adhering to contractual deadlines.
  • Review and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, collateral accounts, and derivative valuations.
  • Identify necessary revenue and billing accruals, adjustments, or corrections to be made in the general ledger, and communicate implications to internal teams.
  • Generate revenue and accounts receivable reports.
  • Investigate and resolve complex billing discrepancies.
  • Follow up with counterparties regarding outstanding receivables.
  • Analyze financial data to detect significant variances, trends, and anomalies; summarize findings for management.
  • Conduct advanced queries in energy trading systems to support inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confirm and settle transactions related to power, emissions, and renewable energy credits with commercial partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop new FERC Filing documents and update quarterly FERC Reports.
  • Engage with site operations personnel, corporate staff, external auditors, vendors, and consultants as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets.
  • Compile ad hoc requests for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of progressively responsible experience in a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong grasp of fundamental accounting and finance principles.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Skilled in using pivot tables and Microsoft Power Query.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with GAAP.
  • Experience with CommoditesXL, PowerOptix, Aveva PI system, and various financial and accounting software (e.g., IFS, Onestream).
  • Knowledge of FERC revenue filings.
  • Experience with advanced visualization applications or database management.
  • Familiarity with power settlements and invoicing across various ISOs (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO).
  • Experience with complex power purchase agreements, VPPAs, and CFDs.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with team members and business partners.
Working Conditions:
