Job Overview: Key Responsibilities Primary Objective Responsible for the preparation of financial data in the form of financial statements and other reports to aid management in decision-making processes. Conducts analyses for inclusion in the financial statements of the organization for all necessary filings with regulatory bodies. Engages in analysis for various internal reports and external financial documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks. Provides technical expertise to support business units across the organization with a variety of projects and tasks. Aids the regulatory team in examining financial data to prepare necessary documentation and responses.Core Duties and Responsibilities Prepares financial reports, which may encompass financial statements, to assist management in decision-making and conducts analyses of financial outcomes for regulatory reporting. Supports internal stakeholders with financial insights and research documentation while resolving accounting and reporting challenges in alignment with company policies. Investigates unusual fluctuations in financial results, monitoring variances, identifying key factors, and recommending actions to management. Prepares schedules for rate cases, utilizes expertise to respond to data inquiries, and contributes to the preparation of witness statements. Enhances productivity by automating accounting processes and coordinating information requirements. Compiles and analyzes financial data for federal reporting as necessary. Reviews regulatory transactions calculated by the Rates Department for inclusion in financial statements and ensures accurate recording of those transactions. Prepares and records journal entries to support precise financial reporting, including account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts. Ensures adherence to internal controls, identifies deficiencies, and proposes improvements. Assists with internal and external audit activities. Ensures compliance with all relevant policies, codes, and regulations applicable to the position and organization. Performs related duties as assigned.Qualifications Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting. If the degree is in a related field, completion of college-level accounting coursework is required for certification.Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated technical proficiency, including research into new accounting guidelines and regulatory rules. Strong understanding of financial reporting and the organization's business processes. Proven project management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities. Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficient in interpreting accounting, financial, and economic data.Equipment and Applications
Proficient in PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.Work Environment and Physical Demands
Standard office environment. No special physical demands required.Compensation

Annual Salary: $76,200 (Min) to $89,600 (Mid); Up to 12% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
