Overview: Core Responsibilities
This role is pivotal in generating financial data, including financial statements and reports, to facilitate informed decision-making by management. The incumbent will be responsible for the analytical review required for the financial statements of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies such as the SEC and FERC. The role also involves the preparation of various internal reports and non-public external financial documents, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of all tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops financial reports to assist management in decision-making processes and analyzes financial outcomes for SEC reporting.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and resolve accounting issues in alignment with company policies.
- Investigates significant variances in financial results, identifying underlying causes and recommending management actions.
- Prepares schedules for regulatory filings and responds to data requests from external parties, contributing to witness testimony preparation.
- Enhances productivity through the automation of accounting processes and coordination of information requirements.
- Compiles and analyzes financial data for federal reporting as necessary.
- Reviews regulatory transactions calculated by the Rates Department for inclusion in financial statements.
- Prepares and records journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting, including account reconciliations.
- Ensures adherence to internal controls, identifies deficiencies, and suggests improvements.
- Supports internal and external audit activities.
- Maintains compliance with all relevant policies, codes, and regulations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- If the degree is in a related field, completion of college-level accounting coursework is required for CPA eligibility in Nevada.

Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge, including research into new accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient understanding of financial reporting and the company's operational processes.
- Demonstrated ability in project management, prioritization, and multitasking.
- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Skilled in interpreting financial and economic data.
