Overview: The Business Analyst - Accounting is responsible for preparing financial data in the form of statements and reports to aid management in decision-making processes. This role involves analyzing financial information for inclusion in the Company's filings with regulatory bodies and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate financial reports to support management decisions and conduct analysis of financial outcomes for regulatory reporting.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with financial insights and resolve accounting issues in alignment with company policies.
  • Investigate significant fluctuations in financial results, monitor variances, and recommend actions to management.
  • Prepare schedules for rate cases and respond to data requests from regulatory entities.
  • Enhance productivity through automation of accounting processes and coordination of information requirements.
  • Compile and analyze financial data for federal reporting as necessary.
  • Review regulatory transactions calculated by the Rates Department for accuracy in financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and propose improvements where necessary.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and tools.

Work Environment:
General office environment with no special physical demands required.

Compensation:

Annual Salary: $76,200 (Min) to $89,600 (Mid); Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity available.
