Chief Financial Officer/Director of Financial Planning and Strategy

The Maine Municipal Association is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of municipal governments in Maine and their employees. Specifically, MMA is comprised of several programs that collectively support municipalities, including legal services, training, advocacy, and programs offered through our insurance trusts. A commitment to excellence combined with a mission to serve the public leads us to seek a visionary and experienced Chief Financial Officer to play a key role in our continued success.

The CFO is an executive leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations, stability, and well-being of MMA and all of its programs. This position oversees the operations of the Finance Department and focuses on both operational management and strategic planning for the entire organization.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience in financial management, accounting, and financial analyses concerning health insurance, workers' compensation insurance, and property and casualty insurance programs. Understanding of actuarial principles for insurance and benefit self-insurance pools is desirable. A Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with a CPA designation, supplemented by management level experience is desirable.
