About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Executive Officer to lead our organization, Maine Veterans Homes, in providing exceptional care and support to our nation's veterans and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocacy and Public Relations: Serve as the Chief Advocate for MVH, engaging with local, state, and federal elected officials to secure ongoing financial support and exploring funding and development options with various organizations.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic planning process that supports the organizational mission, anticipates the needs of the next generation of veterans, and is developed within the context of constraints in the funding and regulatory environment.
  • Operational Execution: Work closely with senior leadership and staff to implement operating plans, budgets, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistency and efficiency of operations reflecting the MVH brand experience and delivering high-quality care to its veterans and families.
  • Leadership and Workforce Development: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain qualified staff, including developing a strong, values-based culture, training, and development opportunities, as well as a competitive compensation and benefits structure.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with the CFO to monitor the organization's financial position and provide transparent communication to the board and key stakeholders to inform decisions.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including CMS/DHHS regulations and VA requirements.
  • Development: Identify and implement key development programs to diversify MVH funding and support organization sustainability.
About Maine Veterans Homes

Maine Veterans Homes is a non-profit, award-winning senior services healthcare provider, offering unparalleled care and comfort to approximately 600 of Maine's veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star families in our six homes throughout the state.

We are a separate, non-profit organization from the Department of Veterans Affairs but work closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to access federal funding for Veterans benefits and care.
