This position offers a unique opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst to contribute significantly to the financial operations of Peaks Renewables HoldCo, LLC, a subsidiary focused on innovative energy solutions. The role is designed for remote work flexibility across various states.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the Business Development team, particularly in the areas of greenfield projects and mergers & acquisitions. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the analyst will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial evaluations and assessments for potential investment opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing detailed financial analysis and valuation for new projects, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Evaluating and screening potential investments, building comprehensive feasibility models.
  • Developing commercial proposals in collaboration with internal teams to optimize value and minimize risks.
  • Supporting due diligence efforts for acquisitions, including financial assessments and internal coordination.
  • Enhancing financial models and streamlining processes to improve efficiency.
  • Facilitating the annual budget process and quarterly forecasts for growth capital projects.
  • Preparing presentations for various corporate meetings, including the Risk Management Committee and Board sessions.
  • Collaborating with teams to ensure timely project development across renewable natural gas and hydrogen initiatives.
  • Staying informed on industry trends and economic theories to guide strategic decisions.
  • Executing ad-hoc financial analyses to support the company's objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in finance or business analysis, including advanced financial modeling.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as MSc in Accounting, CPA, CFA, or MBA with a Finance focus are advantageous.
  • Experience in the energy or utility sector is preferred.
  • Background in FP&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Consulting is a plus.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficient in corporate valuation techniques, financial modeling, and budget analysis.
  • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses and communicate complex financial concepts effectively.
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence and build credibility with management.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial analysis.
  • Strong initiative and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
