Position Overview

The YMCA is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community-focused individual to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer. The CEO will cultivate trust and expand the reach of the YMCA across its service areas. This leader will spearhead collaborative efforts to strengthen community relationships, enhance the organization's reputation, and advance its mission. The Board of Directors is in search of a visionary leader with strong financial expertise, capable of fostering robust relationships within the communities served.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills aligned with the YMCA's mission.
  • At least five years of experience in a senior management position within a YMCA or a similar organization, overseeing multiple levels of staff.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Experience in developing and enhancing programs to improve community engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a YMCA Organizational Leader.
  • Strong business management skills with a focus on fiscal responsibility.
  • Experience in strategic planning and fundraising, including securing grants.
  • Demonstrated history of managing budgets exceeding $3 million annually.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Collaborate with volunteers and staff to develop a strategic plan that addresses the YMCA's needs with clear organizational strategies. Key competencies include Change Leadership, Communication, and Critical Thinking.

Financial Oversight: Utilize advanced financial analysis to forecast trends and ensure organizational stability while guiding departments towards successful financial operations. Key competencies include Fiscal Management and Philanthropy.

Operational Improvement: Engage with the board and staff to create an annual tactical plan that identifies and achieves key operational goals. Key competencies include Innovation and Decision Making.

Community Engagement: Act as an ambassador for the YMCA's mission, building relationships with diverse stakeholders and ensuring the organization is recognized as a leading nonprofit committed to community development. Key competencies include Collaboration and Community Engagement.

Staff Development: Implement a talent development system that promotes cultural competence. Focus on recruiting, nurturing, and retaining a diverse staff while fostering a collaborative and mission-driven environment. Key competencies include Emotional Maturity and Change Leadership.
