Key Responsibilities- Advocacy and Public Relations: Serve as the Chief Advocate for MVH, engaging with local, state, and federal elected officials to secure ongoing financial support and promote MVH's mission.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans that support the organization's mission, anticipate the needs of the next generation of veterans, and navigate the funding and regulatory environment.
- Operational Execution: Work closely with senior leadership and staff to implement operating plans, budgets, policies, and procedures, ensuring consistency and efficiency of operations.
- Leadership and Workforce Development: Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain qualified staff, including developing a strong, values-based culture, training, and development opportunities.
- Financial Management: Monitor the organization's financial position, provide transparent communication to the board and key stakeholders, and develop and monitor risk management strategies and internal controls.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, including CMS/DHHS regulations and VA requirements.
Maine Veterans Homes is a non-profit, award-winning senior services healthcare provider, offering unparalleled care and comfort to approximately 600 of Maine's veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star families in our six homes throughout the state.
We are a separate, nonprofit organization from the Department of Veterans Affairs but work closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to access federal funding for Veterans benefits and care.
