Position Summary
The President will initially work closely with the current Chief Executive Officer during a transition period, ultimately succeeding them in the role of CEO. This position will involve collaboration with the executive management team to drive new business initiatives, operational excellence, fundraising efforts, financial oversight, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational leadership to a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Enhance and uphold the organization’s culture and commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through partnerships and collaborations.
  • Work with the Chief Programs Officer to expand the organization’s wholesale product offerings across the service area.
  • Support major donor relationships and assist in securing funding from diverse sources.
  • Foster key external relationships in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process of the organization.
  • Oversee the development and improvement of compensation policies in collaboration with the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Enhance financial reporting and internal controls with the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Advocate for improvements in government food programs and policies.
  • Review and optimize warehouse operations and vendor relationships.
  • Develop performance metrics to measure organizational growth and effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Represent the organization at regional and national events in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Assist in budget development and monitoring.
  • Engage in community outreach and represent the organization at special events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; extensive experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Proven leadership experience in governance and policy within a large non-profit or relevant organization.
  • Demonstrated success in a mission-driven environment.
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex relationships.
  • Experience with budget development and financial management.
