YWCA of Greater Harrisburg is in search of a full-time Legal Center Director to provide executive-level strategic leadership to the Legal Center team. This role involves overseeing the operations of the Legal Center and collaborating closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer, and Chief Executive Officer to shape the strategic direction and operational framework of the Legal Center. The Legal Center is dedicated to offering civil legal services and representation to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, performance management, and evaluation for Legal Center staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee the caseload management of project attorneys in alignment with grant objectives.
  • Manage federal and state grants, including project activities, data collection, and reporting.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for Legal Center personnel.
  • Collaborate with the COO and CPO to ensure sustainability, growth, and effective implementation of Legal Center services.
  • Lead the hiring process and succession planning for Legal Center staff, ensuring proper staffing and compliance with grant activities.
  • Maintain a network of pro bono attorneys to support the Legal Center's mission.
  • Implement processes and best practices that promote consistent performance expectations and effective grant management.
  • Oversee all program records, including client files and statistical data, to ensure efficient resource use and accurate reporting.
  • Engage in community outreach and training on issues related to domestic and sexual violence in partnership with the YWCA's Violence Intervention & Prevention Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the YWCA team to fulfill the organization's vision, mission, and values, fostering positive relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Support the development of funding resources for grants.
  • Manage the administrative functions of the Legal Center, ensuring compliance with all funding contracts and applicable regulations.
  • Handle a caseload of legal cases as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing staff and programs.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in Pennsylvania or eligibility for admission.
  • A minimum of three years of experience focused on family law.
  • Ability to obtain Child Abuse, FBI, and State Police Clearances.
