About the Organization
The Neighborhood Center of the United Methodist Church has been a cornerstone of support and empowerment in the community since its inception in 1910. The organization is dedicated to delivering essential resources, programs, and services that improve the lives of individuals and families.
With a diverse array of offerings, including child care, educational initiatives, health and wellness programs, and community engagement efforts, the Center has a rich history of addressing community needs. Notably, it established the first kindergarten for African-American children in the area and has developed innovative programs for children with disabilities, setting benchmarks for local educational institutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership (20%):
- Articulate a compelling vision for the organization, inspiring staff, volunteers, and community members toward common objectives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization's mission, utilizing data-driven insights to identify opportunities for growth.
- Foster a culture that values diversity, encourages collaboration, and promotes innovation and excellence.
Financial Oversight and Fundraising (25%):
- Work closely with the Treasurer to maintain the financial integrity of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulations.
- Design and execute strategies to secure a variety of funding sources, including grants and donations. Build and sustain strong relationships with donors and community partners.
- Prepare timely analyses that communicate fundraising outcomes and performance trends.
Program Development and Management (25%):
- Lead the design and implementation of programs that respond to community needs.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring effective management of programs and services.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to child care and program delivery.
Community Engagement (15%):
- Act as the primary representative and advocate for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partners.
- Ensure alignment with the mission of the United Methodist Church and represent the organization at various functions.
Facility and Human Resource Management (15%):
- Assess facility needs and implement maintenance plans in collaboration with the Board.
- Develop and execute a talent management strategy to meet organizational needs.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of staff and volunteers.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in relevant fields or a Bachelor's degree with significant experience in program management or administration.
- Demonstrated experience in child care or educational programming is preferred.
Skills:
- Proven track record in managing high-quality programs and services.
- Experience in fundraising and community engagement.
- Strong financial management skills and operational oversight experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Must meet specific qualifications as outlined in state regulations.
