We are seeking a Lead Engineer in Materials and Processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the materials, processes, and equipment necessary to scale innovations derived from the Development Engineering Group for Aerospace, Defense, and Commercial applications. This position is part of the Global R&D team at Vaupell.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the industrialization of critical technologies for manufacturing in the aerospace sector, and develop and maintain technical documentation to enhance current and future production methodologies.
  • Lead the creation of processes, workflows, and manufacturing documentation essential for the development of advanced material products.
  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to interpret product designs and develop robust, repeatable processes and specifications that continuously improve efficiency in product manufacturing.
  • Oversee the selection of commercially available testing and manufacturing equipment for production lines.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8-13 years of experience in the advanced materials and manufacturing sector.
  • Proven expertise in materials assessment and development, assembly practices, and specification creation.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs, and implement business improvements.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and supplier experience.
  • Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Technical knowledge of aerospace processes, components, and design methodologies.
  • Direct experience in developing, utilizing, and managing build instructions.
