Position Overview: As a Civil Facilities Engineer, you will play a vital role in enhancing the infrastructure essential for our manufacturing and aviation production processes. Your collaboration with various engineering disciplines, maintenance teams, and operational units will be crucial in assessing environmental impacts, underground utility networks, roadways, and aircraft flight lines. Your input will be significant in long-term maintenance strategies to guarantee the efficient operation of the facilities and the aviation programs we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and finalize moderately complex designs, cost estimates, and provide maintenance support for the civil and structural aspects of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems, and grounds.
  • Assist in the integration of activities among multiple engineering disciplines, external consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure civil and structural designs align with customer specifications, building codes, and relevant regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles and materials.
  • Review contractor redlines to ensure the accuracy of drawing archives and compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols.
  • Support construction processes by offering insights on vendor selection, reviewing contractor proposals, and monitoring project progress and vendor performance.
  • Prepare and present project information to ensure adherence to applicable construction documents and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Produce and/or procure detailed design documents, utilizing appropriate resources to align with project specifications.
  • Translate customer requirements into design options and estimates, identifying suitable materials, equipment, and services through engineering principles.
  • Update design standards and site-specific operating procedures to establish consistent practices.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning and decision-making processes with limited supervision, managing and executing projects effectively.
  • Analyze current conditions and future needs, gathering data to identify and evaluate alternatives and impacts.
  • Collect customer requirements for incorporation into conceptual designs.
  • Engage in code research and develop initial project schedules to define project scope.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project management information, assisting in the documentation of contract scope.
  • Interpret and analyze relevant regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances concerning project requirements.
  • Propose project alternatives to ensure compliance and provide necessary support to secure permits.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering, construction, facilities management, maintenance, or project management.
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and construction specifications.
  • 3+ years of experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience applying engineering principles to provide technical solutions while adhering to local and federal regulations.
  • Experience leading and collaborating in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Strong ability to interact and collaborate with personnel across various organizational levels, including project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff, and contractors.
