Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will report directly to the Division Dean of Student Engagement at San Jose City College. This role is a full-time position, operating 12 months a year, with a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This position is part of the CSEA (California School Employees Association), Chapter 363.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Under the guidance of an assigned administrator, the Program Coordinator will oversee activities within a specialized program, which includes recruitment efforts, material production, and providing essential information to student participants.

Functional oversight may be provided by a Counselor or Instructor affiliated with the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the planning and execution of program activities.
  • Engage in community outreach, including public presentations and expanding the community network.
  • Create and distribute communication materials.
  • Organize orientations and events.
  • Attend program-related functions both on and off campus.
  • Manage front office operations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Gather statistical data regarding program activities.
  • Maintain program budgets and perform bookkeeping tasks.
  • Provide general administrative assistance.
  • Familiarize and adhere to program policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

  • Office administrative practices, filing systems, and the operation of office equipment.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Exhibit effective communication skills.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships.
  • Communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.
  • Pay attention to detail in all tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

Foreign Degree:

Degrees must be conferred by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation. All degrees obtained outside the U.S. require a U.S. evaluation of the transcripts.
