Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will report directly to the Division Dean of Student Success at San Jose City College. This role is a full-time position, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Under the guidance of an assigned administrator, the Program Coordinator will oversee various activities within a specialized program, which includes recruitment efforts, creating informational materials, and providing essential support to student participants.

Functional oversight may be provided by a Counselor or Instructor associated with the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Facilitate the coordination and execution of program activities.
  • Engage in community outreach, including public speaking and expanding local networks.
  • Develop and distribute communication materials.
  • Organize orientations and events for participants.
  • Attend program-related activities both on and off campus.
  • Manage front office operations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Gather statistical data concerning program activities.
  • Maintain program financial records and perform bookkeeping tasks.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support.
  • Learn and adhere to program policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:
  • Office administrative procedures, record-keeping, and operation of office technology.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Exhibit effective communication skills.
  • Build collaborative working relationships.
  • Communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

Foreign Degree:

Degrees must be conferred by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation. All degrees obtained outside the U.S. require a U.S. evaluation of the transcripts.
