Position Overview

Salary: $20-$25

The Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) is in search of a Materials Production Coordinator to facilitate the implementation of STEAM initiatives and student program kits. This role is pivotal in overseeing and managing the materials utilized in kit assembly while fostering volunteer relationships and organizing the volunteer workspace efficiently.

As a key member of the Operations team, the Materials Production Coordinator will also provide support to the retail team as required.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing tasks such as processing, kit assembly, barcoding, inventory management, and quality assurance as directed by the Production Director.
  • Assisting volunteers with inquiries and offering guidance on tasks to keep them engaged and productive.
  • Setting up and dismantling volunteer stations, including cleaning and organizing the area.
  • Maintaining the volunteer room and production spaces to ensure they are tidy and reflect RAFT's brand identity.
  • Leading the receiving and processing of purchased inventory, preparing materials for the sales floor.
  • Comprehending RAFT's mission and effectively communicating its value and impact to volunteers.
  • Familiarizing oneself with RAFT's STEAM Learning Activity Kit Catalog and independently producing kits while supporting volunteers and store staff in production efforts.
  • Managing and tracking materials used in kit production, including retrieving and returning materials to storage.
  • Conducting inventory cycle counts.
  • Overseeing the stocking of STEAM Activity Kits and purchased inventory on the sales floor.
  • Providing ERP (NetSuite) support for the Production Director regarding Bill of Materials, Purchasing, and Inventory.
  • Assisting with offsite RAFT volunteer events as necessary.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The capability to work effectively under tight deadlines while prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Robust decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Availability to work one weekend day per week.
Education & Experience Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in warehouse operations, volunteer coordination, or a related field, or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Educators and parents can become RAFT members and access affordable items dedicated to hands-on learning.
