Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator will report to the Division Dean of Student Success at San Jose City College. This role involves a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This position is represented by the appropriate employee association.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Under the guidance of an assigned administrator, the Program Coordinator will oversee activities within a specialized program, which includes recruitment efforts, material production, and providing essential information to student participants.

Functional oversight may be provided by a Counselor or Instructor associated with the program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the organization and execution of program initiatives.
  • Engage in community outreach, including public presentations and building a community network.
  • Create and distribute communication materials.
  • Plan and coordinate orientations and events.
  • Participate in program-related activities on and off campus.
  • Manage front office operations and prepare necessary reports.
  • Gather statistical data regarding program activities.
  • Maintain program accounts and handle bookkeeping tasks.
  • Provide general administrative assistance.
  • Learn and adhere to program policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Office administrative practices, including filing and operation of office equipment.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Exhibit effective communication skills.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships.
  • Communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

Foreign Degree:

Degrees must be awarded by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Council on Post-Secondary Accreditation. All degrees obtained outside the U.S. require a U.S. evaluation of the transcripts.
