Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization committed to promoting economic and health equity for young individuals aged 11–24. We prioritize a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology, focusing on the unique needs of young people affected by systemic racism and other forms of oppression. Established in 1972, we serve over 3,000 youth each year.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Youth Support Services Coordinator is tasked with building trusting relationships with youth while delivering essential services at SafeZone, a Drop-In Center catering to homeless youth. This role involves collaborating with young individuals to help them achieve their objectives related to housing, education, employment, financial independence, and the development of support networks. Additionally, the Coordinator will facilitate various programs and workshops tailored to the interests of the youth, aiding them in overcoming obstacles.

This position entails a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supportive Services

  • Deliver case management services to youth.
  • Establish and maintain healthy emotional and physical boundaries with clients.
  • Encourage positive adolescent development.
  • Conduct individual assessments to identify needs and aspirations.
  • Assist clients in achieving their educational, employment, and housing objectives.
  • Process applications for rental assistance.
  • Conduct intake assessments and necessary evaluations.
  • Support clients in meeting their established benchmarks.
  • Document outcomes in relevant databases.
  • Complete required paperwork promptly.
  • Provide transportation for clients as necessary.
  • Conduct home visits as needed.
  • Foster relationships with community and agency partners.
  • Manage a caseload of drop-in clients and referrals for scattered housing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to group activities and youth leadership initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance case management knowledge.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues while maintaining professional relationships with clients and external agencies.
  • Deliver all services in accordance with evidence-based practices aimed at assisting youth in overcoming homelessness.

Drop-In Services

  • Conduct intake and assessment processes for youth entering the drop-in center.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while welcoming and checking in youth.
  • Engage meaningfully with youth, assisting them in accessing available resources.
  • Manage crisis situations with professionalism and calmness.
  • Support youth in securing emergency housing.
  • Help maintain the daily operations of the drop-in center, assisting in various areas as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth facing homelessness or related challenges.
  • Familiarity with positive youth development and harm reduction strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High reliability and integrity.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to meeting youth needs.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Effective crisis management skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

LOCATION: This role requires onsite presence, with limited remote work options available after an initial training period.

The compensation for this position is competitive, based on qualifications.
