Face to Face Health and Counseling Services, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit entity focused on promoting economic and health equity for young individuals. Our comprehensive strategy encompasses various domains including housing, mental health, medical care, youth justice, education, employment, and community outreach. We prioritize a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology, centering the experiences of young people affected by systemic racism and other forms of marginalization. Each year, we support over 3,000 youth through our programs.

JOB SUMMARY:

As part of our commitment to youth support, we are seeking a Resource Navigator to join our team. This role is pivotal in establishing trusting relationships with young individuals while delivering essential services at SafeZone, our Drop-In Center for youth facing homelessness.

This position entails a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drop-In Services
  • Engage with youth at the center in a respectful and meaningful manner, assisting them with various resources available at the center and in the broader community.
  • Oversee the organization and functionality of the Resource Room and food shelf.
  • Maintain accurate inventory logs for the Resource Room.
  • Source goods from external partners.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while welcoming and checking in youth at SafeZone.
  • Address crisis situations effectively, employing de-escalation techniques in a calm and professional manner.
  • Assist youth in securing emergency housing and shelter options.
  • Facilitate the daily operations of the drop-in center by providing support at the front desk, clothing closet, computer lab, kitchen, or other areas as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supportive Services
  • Facilitate access to supportive services and resources.
  • Establish and maintain healthy physical and emotional boundaries with youth.
  • Encourage the healthy development of adolescents.
  • Document youth outcomes in relevant databases.
  • Complete necessary paperwork promptly.
  • Transport clients as required to help them achieve their goals.
  • Build and sustain relationships with youth-serving programs and agencies.
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement team for the acquisition of donations.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff, fostering teamwork and professional relationships with clients and external agencies.
  • Deliver all services in alignment with evidence-based principles aimed at helping youth overcome homelessness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in social services or equivalent extensive experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth facing homelessness or similar challenges.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Experience with positive youth development and harm reduction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High reliability and integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Positive attitude and a commitment to meeting youth needs.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Effective crisis management skills and the ability to handle stressful situations adeptly.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance are required.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.

PAY & BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, depending on qualifications. Face to Face also provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, a 403b retirement plan, as well as generous paid time off and holidays.
