Face to Face Health and Counseling Services, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit entity focused on promoting economic and health equity for young individuals. Our comprehensive approach encompasses housing, mental health, medical care, youth justice, education, employment, and community services. We prioritize a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology, centering the needs of young people affected by systemic racism and other forms of marginalization. Serving over 3,000 youth annually since our inception in 1972, we are committed to making a significant impact in our community.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a part of our mission, we are seeking a Resource Navigator who will engage with youth at SafeZone, a Drop-In Center designed for those experiencing homelessness. This role is essential in fostering trusting relationships with young individuals while providing vital support services.

This position entails a commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drop-In Services
  • Interact with youth at the center in a respectful and meaningful way, assisting them with available resources.
  • Oversee the organization and operation of the Resource Room and food shelf.
  • Maintain inventory logs for the Resource Room.
  • Source goods from external partners.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while welcoming and checking in youth at SafeZone.
  • Address crisis situations calmly and professionally.
  • Assist youth in finding emergency housing or shelter.
  • Support the daily operations of the drop-in center in various capacities as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supportive Services
  • Facilitate access to supportive services and resources.
  • Establish healthy boundaries with youth.
  • Encourage positive adolescent development.
  • Document youth outcomes in relevant databases.
  • Complete necessary paperwork promptly.
  • Transport clients as required to help them achieve their goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with youth-serving programs and agencies.
  • Collaborate with the Community Engagement team for donation procurement.
  • Work alongside other staff to foster teamwork and maintain professional relationships.
  • Deliver all services guided by evidence-based principles to assist youth in overcoming homelessness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.A. degree in social services or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth facing homelessness or similar challenges.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Experience with positive youth development and harm reduction strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High reliability and integrity.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to meeting youth needs.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Effective crisis management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance are required.
  • Proven ability to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

PAY & BENEFITS:

Compensation for this role ranges from $22 to $23 per hour, based on qualifications. Face to Face also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, a 403b retirement plan, generous paid time off, and paid holidays.
