POSITION SUMMARY:
This role is designed to provide essential support to the Kids Club Supervisors in delivering educational and supervisory assistance to children enrolled in the School Age Child Care program and other Out-of-School Time initiatives. The position involves executing lesson plans, preparing materials for activities, engaging in program events, and fostering positive relationships with children, staff, and families.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Assist Kids Club Supervisors in executing lesson plans in accordance with state and program standards, encompassing physical activities, arts, literacy, STEM, cultural/language education, life skills, and social-emotional learning. Actively lead and participate in all program activities and events.
  2. Collaborate with the team to enhance the mental, physical, social, and emotional development of all children. Address student needs promptly, utilizing positive behavior intervention strategies, and communicate observations regarding any challenges in adjustment, learning, or behavior to the Kids Club Supervisor.
  3. Ensure the safety and security of children in the School Age Child Care Program and other Out-of-School Time initiatives. Responsible for accurate attendance tracking and continuous monitoring of the environment to maintain safety standards.
  4. Model appropriate behavior and implement strategies to guide children in developing positive social interactions. Utilize techniques such as peer mediation, conflict resolution, and behavioral management strategies.
  5. Adhere to district and program policies and procedures, including emergency protocols, confidentiality, and reporting requirements. Support reasonable accommodations as outlined by the program.
  6. Prepare and organize materials for activities, including setup and cleanup of supplies and program areas, as well as meal preparation and serving, encouraging student participation in these tasks.
  7. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff.
  8. Engage in staff development activities and participate in required meetings.
  9. Exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, respect, and equity in all interactions with students, staff, and families.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Required:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Competencies as required by state and federal regulations.
  3. Strong teamwork, confidentiality, professionalism, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to provide respectful services to students as directed by supervisors.
  5. Exhibit appropriate behavior and a positive learning environment.
  6. Participate in district-sponsored training as available.
