Position Overview:

Vaco Staffing is seeking a meticulous and skilled Accounts Receivable Coordinator for a remote, contract opportunity. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in medical billing and accounts receivable oversight.

Role Summary:

The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency in managing medical claims, appeals, denials, and data entry, particularly with an understanding of Medi-Cal (California Medicaid) and anesthesia billing. This role operates remotely while reporting to our designated office.

Key Duties:

  • Claims Management: Efficiently file and oversee medical claims, ensuring timely processing in line with payer specifications.
  • Appeals and Denials Resolution: Analyze and address denied claims, preparing and submitting appeals with required documentation and following up until resolution.
  • Data Management: Conduct precise data entry for accounts receivable transactions, including payments, adjustments, and account modifications.
  • Medi-Cal Expertise: Utilize knowledge of Medi-Cal regulations and billing standards to ensure compliance and accuracy in billing practices.
  • Anesthesia Billing Expertise (Preferred): Apply specialized knowledge in anesthesia billing to manage claims and resolve related issues.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with patients, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to address billing inquiries and rectify discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Create and assess accounts receivable reports to track aging accounts, cash flow, and other financial indicators.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 3 years in medical accounts receivable, with a solid foundation in medical billing and collections.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in claims filing, appeals handling, and data entry. Familiarity with Medi-Cal billing is essential, while knowledge of anesthesia billing is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experienced with electronic medical billing software or practice management systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in managing financial records.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of effectively interacting with patients, insurance companies, and internal teams.
  • Work Schedule: Availability to work within the specified time zone, Monday through Friday.
