Role Summary: Under the guidance of the Contract Analyst, the Billing Specialist will oversee essential accounting functions, primarily focusing on Accounts Receivable and Contract Billing.

Work Schedule and Benefits:

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role, offering eligibility for medical, dental, vision, 403b, and a comprehensive PTO plan.

Compensation:

Billing Specialist Wage: $31.35 - $40.11

Starting Wage (Dependent on Experience): $31.35 - $32.92

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional college coursework or a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience
  • Familiarity with Sage/Intacct is advantageous

Essential Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of general accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of grant and contract compliance
  • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all tasks related to accounts receivable, including interactions with staff and vendors, invoicing, expense coding, and data entry.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records for assigned contracts, ensuring alignment with program and contract updates.
  • Comprehend financial obligations of assigned contracts, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and county regulations, including expense eligibility and documentation.
  • Coordinate the coding of expenditures related to assigned contracts.
  • Collaborate with program staff to finalize all non-financial contract reports, ensuring timely submission of assigned contracts.
  • Assist program staff in reviewing ongoing budget-to-actual reports and managing adjustments in monthly invoicing.
  • Prepare and dispatch invoices and all necessary reports to designated agencies.
  • Support audit responses and monitoring activities, including the annual financial audit.
  • Collect all required financial reporting for federal, city, and state agencies as necessary.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as needed.
