Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Contract Analyst, the Billing Specialist will undertake various accounting functions, primarily focusing on Accounts Receivable and Contract Billing.

Work Schedule and Benefits

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role that offers eligibility for medical, dental, vision, 403b, and a comprehensive PTO plan.

Compensation

Billing Specialist Wage: $31.35 - $40.11

Starting Wage (DOE): $31.35 - $32.92

Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional college coursework or 2+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Familiarity with Sage/Intacct is advantageous
Essential Knowledge
  • Comprehensive understanding of general accounting principles, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge of grant and contract compliance
  • Familiarity with contract terms and conditions
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Suite
Typical Duties Include:
  • Managing all aspects of accounts receivable, including interactions with staff and vendors, invoicing, expense coding, and data entry.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete files for assigned contracts, ensuring they are up-to-date with program and contract modifications.
  • Understanding the financial requirements of assigned contracts and ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and county guidelines.
  • Coordinating the coding of expenditures related to assigned contracts.
  • Collaborating with program staff to complete all non-financial contract reports, ensuring timely submission.
  • Reviewing ongoing budget-to-actual reports with program staff and managing necessary adjustments in monthly invoicing.
  • Preparing and dispatching invoices and all required reports to designated agencies.
  • Assisting with audits and monitoring activities, including the annual financial audit.
  • Gathering necessary financial reporting for federal, city, and state agencies as required.
  • Providing clerical and administrative support as assigned.
