Technical Sales Engineer for Energy Solutions

The role of the Technical Sales Engineer is crucial in the Energy & Infrastructure Solutions sector, focusing on the sales application engineering for general industries. This position is designed for candidates who are adept at preparing precise technical specifications that facilitate the processing of substantial electric motor and drive system orders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive technical specifications for both fixed and adjustable speed motors, as well as AC/DC drive systems, ensuring alignment with client Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements.
- Engage in the creation of technical and commercial proposals for smaller projects, working with minimal oversight.
- Provide expert technical guidance throughout the proposal preparation, review, and finalization stages.
- Establish detailed cost components related to technical specifications.
- Design and propose innovative technical solutions to address client challenges.
- Assess supplier proposals to identify the most effective technical and economical solutions.
- Solicit client feedback to identify needs for enhanced product or service features.
- Communicate product and service shortcomings to management for ongoing improvement.
- Review marketing materials for technical accuracy.
- Propose new products and applications to stimulate business growth.
- Monitor industry trends to recommend new features for products and services.
- Analyze competitors' offerings and client situations to propose tailored competitive options.
- Stay informed about new products and technologies, providing comparative analyses to commercial and R&D teams.
- Prepare and present at technical conferences and client meetings as required.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in systems or application engineering related to medium voltage drives and motor systems.
- Proven track record as a contributing member of project teams.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Established successful relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in systems or application engineering for medium voltage drives and motor systems rated over 10MW.
- Proven success in client-facing roles, particularly in sales or marketing.
