General Role Overview:
As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for cultivating a robust pipeline of business opportunities for integrated solutions in the photovoltaic, battery energy storage, and repowering sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish the Company as the leading choice for solution provision in new interconnect application submissions by developing and maintaining influential relationships within a network of developers, independent engineers, and owners' engineers, in collaboration with Chief Specialists.
  • Offer technical direction during feasibility and system impact assessments, working closely with Chief Specialists.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, filtering their needs and expectations regarding new and improved products and services.
  • Identify and propose competitive, innovative products and services by analyzing market trends, industry dynamics, and the competitive landscape, focusing on both current and prospective clients.
  • Evaluate potential new and enhanced products and services in conjunction with business development and technical experts within the company.
  • Create technical, marketing, and commercial documentation and provide training on new and enhanced offerings.
  • Define project solutions that encompass hardware and software requirements, collaborating with clients and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Effectively communicate these requirements to clients and the internal engineering team.
  • Provide feedback on products and systems, identifying service improvement opportunities for management.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at technical conferences, internal meetings, and client engagements as required.
  • Review marketing materials for technical accuracy.
  • Develop pricing strategies aimed at maximizing project profitability.
  • Design competitive and feasible technical solutions to address client challenges.
  • Lead the development of technical and commercial proposals for smaller projects with minimal supervision.
  • Provide technical guidance during the preparation, review, and finalization of commercial proposals for clients.
  • Prepare commercial proposals and technical specifications to fulfill clients' Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements.
  • Assess supplier proposals to identify the most technically sound and cost-effective solutions for applications.
  • Compile detailed cost elements for technical specifications.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven expertise in utility-scale PV inverters, battery energy storage systems, power conversion, power generation/transmission/distribution, or automation systems.
  • Experience with power system study requirements, utility and ISO/RTO processes, and familiarity with power flow models such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying product gaps, emerging technologies, and new market opportunities that drive business growth.
  • Proven ability to differentiate the Company’s technical advantages from competitor offerings.
  • Strong visual communication skills to ensure that publications are both engaging and informative.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Continuous improvement demonstrated in areas of responsibility.
  • Successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (approximately 30%) and occasionally internationally with limited notice.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7 years of demonstrated expertise in utility-scale PV inverters, battery energy storage systems, power conversion, power generation/transmission/distribution, or automation systems.
  • 5 years of experience in power systems analysis/modeling.
  • Established relationships with decision-makers at current and potential client organizations, particularly utilities, independent power producers, and/or EPCs.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.
  • Experience in product management.
  • Successful presentations at user conferences, trade shows, and similar events.
