Job Description

Overview

Addiction Recovery Care, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome substance abuse addiction and achieve a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Support Groups: Facilitate peer support groups for clients, providing a safe and non-judgmental space for them to share their experiences and receive support.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company, state, federal, and HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Charting and Record-Keeping: Accurately chart and maintain client records for insurance purposes.
  • Professional Attitude: Maintain a positive, professional attitude towards clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Crisis Intervention: Handle crisis situations in a calm, supportive manner.
  • Drug Screening: Complete drug screening as needed.
  • Environment Safety: Create a safe and healthy environment for clients.
  • Residential Staff Duties: Perform residential staff duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Peer Support Certification: Must be Peer Support Certified by the state of Kentucky.
  • Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Availability: Availability to work some evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients and staff.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to meet deadlines and stay on schedule, as well as enforce program requirements.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
