Role Summary

We are currently in search of an Admissions Clerk to enhance our growing team. The Admissions Clerk will play a crucial role in the intake process, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for new clients. The key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the primary contact for clients upon their arrival for intake.
  • Creating a hospitable environment for individuals seeking services.
  • Completing electronic medical records (EMR) intake documents with client signatures.
  • Coordinating initial nursing assessments and counseling sessions for clients.
  • Assisting with the management of client belongings upon arrival.
  • Collaborating with the intake department to identify suitable programs and services for clients.
  • Conducting Peer Support sessions with clients during the intake process.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with intake staff, administrative personnel, and external agencies.
  • Participating in required staff and regulatory training.
  • Upholding program policies and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of client information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in healthcare and substance abuse preferred.
  • Appropriate state and federal clearances.
  • Peer Support Certification.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Understanding of recovery principles and service systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance regulations.
  • Knowledge of community health resources that promote overall well-being.
  • Awareness of the impacts of substance use on individuals and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing addiction treatment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including Windows and EMR.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality and manage crisis situations calmly.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with diverse clients.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to read detailed health records.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Mobility to navigate the office and community.
