Job Summary:
Addiction Recovery Care, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing mental health conditions and coordinating healthcare in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Mental Health Assessments: Perform age-appropriate mental health history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Order and Interpret Diagnostic Tests: Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's specific needs.
- Respond to Psychiatric Emergencies: Respond to psychiatric emergencies and develop a collaborative, individualized treatment plan that may include medications, non-pharmacologic treatments, collaboration/referral to specialty providers or other interventions aimed to improve health status.
- Communicate with Patients and Healthcare Providers: Communicate with patients, their support persons, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers in a manner that facilitates optimal care of the patient.
- Participate in Utilization Review Activities: Participate in utilization review activities as needed to ensure patients are able to access necessary care.
- Comply with Regulations: Fulfill all duties in compliance with Pioneer Rural Health procedures including 42 CFR, Part 2 (privacy regulations).
- Work Independently: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize Work: Ability to prioritize work and work-related responsibilities.
- Participate in 24/7 Call: Participate in 24/7 call for emergency, evening, or weekend coverage.
- Complete Peer to Peer Reviews: Complete peer to peer reviews as necessary with payor sources.
- Maintain Professional Relationships: Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional working relationship with Pioneer Rural Health's staff and consumers alike.
Requirements:
- Education: APRN, Psychiatric certification, NP License in the state of KY, hold DEA.
- Experience: 2 years of inpatient acute psychiatric experience minimum, experience with Involuntary Holds (Mental Inquest Warrant) preferred.
- Qualifications: Kentucky Medicaid enrollment, experience with primary care psychiatry or consultation-liaison psychiatry, DATA 2000 waiver.
