General Role Overview


Deliver Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to facilitate installation and commissioning tasks for designated projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and performance standards.



Key Responsibilities

  • Commission AC and DC drive systems and/or control software to align with design performance specifications
  • Optimize closed loop regulators to guarantee peak equipment performance and compliance with design criteria
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues in intricate control systems
  • Design, configure, and validate system software and hardware to fulfill contractual obligations of assigned projects
  • Collect relevant information from authorized sources to evaluate project needs related to assigned responsibilities
  • Provide regular, precise, and thoughtful commissioning progress reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Lead the client witness system acceptance testing for assigned components
  • Suggest modifications to commissioning processes to enhance system efficiency
  • Propose software or hardware enhancements to the engineering team
  • Maintain up-to-date safety qualifications relevant to assigned duties and comply with both company and client safety protocols
  • Educate client personnel on system maintenance and operation procedures to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime
  • Plan and implement special projects to support the business unit as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Coursework, labs, and projects focused on electrical power systems, control system theory, supervisory software development, database design/management, software engineering, robotics, or mechatronics
  • Proficiency in personal computer hardware and software
  • Relevant work experience through co-op, internship, or similar roles
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Established successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%, sometimes with limited notice

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in utility-scale photovoltaic systems, energy storage, oil & gas, mining, power generation, water/wastewater, metals, material handling, or paper industries
  • Research project or thesis in electrical power systems, control system theory, software engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or AC/DC motor drives
  • Relevant work experience as a research assistant, intern, or co-op in the aforementioned fields
  • Demonstrated experience in field engineering roles
