General Role Overview:

As an Associate Field Engineer, you will deliver Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to facilitate the installation and commissioning of projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and performance standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Commission both AC and DC drive systems and/or control software to fulfill design performance expectations.
  • Optimize closed loop regulators through tune-ups to achieve peak equipment efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues within intricate control systems.
  • Design, configure, and validate system software and hardware to align with contractual obligations.
  • Collect relevant data from authorized sources to evaluate project needs concerning your assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide timely, precise, and thoughtful commissioning status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the client witness system acceptance testing for your designated scope.
  • Suggest enhancements to commissioning protocols to boost system efficiency.
  • Propose software or hardware upgrades to the engineering team.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety qualifications relevant to assigned tasks and comply with both company and client safety protocols.
  • Educate client personnel on system maintenance and operation to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
  • Plan and carry out special projects to support the business unit as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant coursework, labs, and projects in electrical power systems, control system theory, supervisory software development, database design/management, software engineering, robotics, or mechatronics.
  • Proficiency in personal computer hardware and software.
  • Experience through co-op, internship, or similar roles.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Established positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%, sometimes with limited notice.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in utility-scale photovoltaic systems, energy storage, oil & gas, mining, power generation, water/wastewater, metals, material handling, or paper industries.
  • Research project or thesis in electrical power systems, control system theory, software engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or AC/DC motor drives.
  • Work experience as a research assistant, intern, or co-op in relevant fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in field engineering roles.
