As a Field Engineering Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering Technical Advisory Services (TAS) to facilitate the installation and commissioning of various projects, ensuring they align with established schedules and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Commissioning both AC and DC drive systems and control software to meet specified performance benchmarks.
- Optimizing closed-loop regulators through tune-ups to achieve peak equipment efficiency.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues within complex control systems.
- Designing, configuring, and testing system software and hardware to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Collecting essential information from authorized sources to evaluate project needs related to your assigned tasks.
- Providing timely and accurate commissioning status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Leading client witness system acceptance tests for your designated scope.
- Suggesting enhancements to commissioning procedures to boost system performance.
- Advising the engineering team on potential software or hardware improvements.
- Maintaining up-to-date safety qualifications and adhering to both company and client safety protocols.
- Training client personnel on system maintenance and operation to ensure optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
- Executing special projects to support the business unit as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Experience in electrical power systems, control system theory, supervisory software development, database management, software engineering, robotics, or mechatronics through coursework, labs, or projects.
- Proficiency in personal computer hardware and software.
- Relevant work experience through co-op, internship, or similar roles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%, often with little notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates may also have:
- A Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on control automation.
- Experience with research projects or theses in electrical power systems, control system theory, software engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or AC/DC motor drives.
- Previous work experience as a research assistant, intern, or co-op in relevant fields.
