Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the commissioning of AC and DC drive systems and associated control software.
  • Conduct tune-ups on closed-loop regulators.
  • Develop, validate, and implement algorithms that dictate the electro-mechanical functions of industrial and port machinery, focusing primarily on port crane systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve application issues within complex control systems.
  • Design, configure, and test both software and hardware systems to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Collect relevant information from authorized sources to evaluate project needs.
  • Provide consistent and precise updates on commissioning progress.
  • Lead the process component of client witness system acceptance testing.
  • Suggest modifications to commissioning protocols to enhance system efficiency.
  • Advise the engineering team on potential software or hardware enhancements.
  • Maintain up-to-date safety qualifications pertinent to assigned tasks.
  • Mentor colleagues in specific technical areas.
  • Educate client personnel on system maintenance and operational procedures.
  • Plan and execute special projects lasting up to nine months to support departmental objectives when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with a focus on control automation, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in process and automation controls.
  • At least two years of field engineering experience or relevant experience in industries such as metals, port solutions, or paper.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Exemplary personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Capability to work at heights of up to approximately 175 feet.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally over 75% of the time, often with little notice.
  • More than three years of experience servicing a diverse range of port equipment, including overhead traveling cranes and their components.
  • Demonstrated expertise in installing, inspecting, and maintaining lifting equipment.
  • Experience collaborating with international clients in field service roles.
  • Background in the metals, port solutions, paper, or general industries.
  • Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems.
