ROLE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT:

Reporting directly to the Director of Field Operations, the Superintendent plays a crucial role in leading the field project team and holds overall responsibility for the project's field operations. This position also involves engaging in prospective project lead generation and assisting in proposal preparation and presentations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety and Compliance:

  • Prioritizes safety at all times and ensures adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitors compliance with project procedures and safety programs.
  • Documents safety violations and recommends corrective measures.
  • Familiarizes with all construction and contract documents, including owner agreements and specifications.
  • This role is designated as safety-sensitive, requiring participation in injury prevention programs.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conducts constructability reviews during preconstruction phases.
  • Facilitates productive preparatory meetings for all trades and subcontractors.
  • Implements quality control and assurance plans to ensure project execution aligns with standards.
  • Maintains conformance with contract documents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinates timely testing and inspections to uphold efficient workflows.

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Provides leadership to ensure projects are completed according to design, budget, and schedule.
  • Supervises subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Leads jobsite coordination meetings with subcontractors and project teams.
  • Offers management and development support to Field Engineers and Assistant Superintendents.
  • Fosters professional relationships with project owners and design professionals.

Planning and Scheduling:

  • Ensures projects are completed on schedule.
  • Contributes to project logistics and scheduling during preconstruction.
  • Develops and executes detailed construction schedules.
  • Evaluates changes for their impact on project timelines and costs.

Project Administration:

  • Manages project mobilization and site organization.
  • Ensures compliance with stormwater management plans.
  • Oversees the completion of punch lists and field administration tasks.
  • Maintains accurate jobsite documentation throughout the project.

COST MANAGEMENT:

  • Responsible for all field cost activities, including estimating and budget projections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6-8 years of experience in commercial construction with increasing responsibility.
  • Experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent on relevant projects.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Senior Living, Education, Recreation, and Multifamily construction.
  • Successful candidates must pass a drug test prior to employment.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $140,000 + Profit Sharing + Performance-based Incentive Bonus + Company Vehicle. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
