Job Overview

Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to become a vital part of our Structural Engineering Group. This role offers the chance to engage in a diverse array of projects utilizing various structural materials. The selected candidate will gain valuable experience in both new structural design and the assessment and retrofitting of existing structures.

A typical week may involve engineering calculations, the development of construction drawings, tasks related to construction administration, and site inspections. This position fosters early career interactions with clients, architects, and contractors, allowing for the establishment of professional relationships throughout the project lifecycle. While many projects are based in Colorado, our national presence provides opportunities to work on projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ computer-aided design and graphics software to finalize project construction documents.
  • Interpret and apply building codes, material standards, and jurisdictional requirements to execute project design calculations under the guidance of the Project Manager.
  • Support the Project Manager in construction administration tasks, including reviewing submittals, addressing RFIs, and conducting site observations.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of project designs with clients, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or a related field.
  • Successful completion of the FE Examination.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in engineering from an accredited program in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or a related field.
  • Undergraduate degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Familiarity with building and material design codes.
  • Experience with computer design and graphics software for structural design and documentation (e.g., AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client service and teamwork.
  • Experience in construction settings.
  • Programming experience in languages such as Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C++, or VBA.
