We are in search of a meticulous and organized Paralegal HR Specialist to enhance our vibrant team. This role involves daily interactions with clients and employees, focusing on compliance activities, policy formulation, escalated employee relations, and legal adherence within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a positive and proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Compliance Manager to monitor and research evolving employment laws, ensuring relevant information is disseminated to appropriate parties.
  • Act as the primary contact for Workers Compensation claims associated with the Contingent Workforce.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Leaves of Absence (FMLA and state-specific laws) requests from the Contingent Workforce.
  • Assist the Operations team with inquiries related to compliance and provide guidance.
  • Support escalated employee relations by conducting thorough investigations and offering objective recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports addressing investigations and compliance issues related to employee relations.
  • Develop and modify company forms and contracts utilized in business operations.
  • Design and facilitate training sessions for managers and departments on regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Assist with eligibility determinations for Independent Contractors and manage compliance efforts.
  • Engage in additional compliance projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; a minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, or Compliance/Regulatory roles.
  • Preferred certifications include Paralegal Certificate and/or PHR Certificate.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and laws and effectively communicate information.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills for internal and external interactions.
  • Capacity to manage detailed, confidential, and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and a collaborative mindset.
