We are currently seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to process payroll for over 200 employees and assist the growing HR department with administrative duties and special projects.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Full cycle payroll: 5-7 bi-weekly (individual) payroll submissions supporting 200+ employees using Paycom software: implements, maintains, and reviews bi-weekly payroll processing and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.

Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

Full understanding of state and federal payroll law including meal and break, waivers, penalties (ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices).

Identifies and recommends updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.

Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.

Prepares periodic reports as needed by department supervisor or Executive Director of earnings, hours worked, and Personal Time Off (PTO).

Is available to answer employee questions and concerns regarding their paycheck and benefits.

May assist in the new hire process for staff including pre-employment screening, orientation and processing new hire paperwork.

Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilitates policies and procedures.

Provide day-to-day Administration of pre onboarding associates, Oversee all new hires documentation, I9 compliance

Create new hire folders and ensures that all employment related documents are retained and stored accordingly

Manage Human Resources Central Email correspondence

Manage and assign training courses for all staff, track completion

Responsible for responding to agency requests (unemployment and disability claims, verification of employment) timely

Required Skills/Abilities:

Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.

Proficient with payroll software/HRIS systems (Paycom and ADP WFN highly desired).

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Experience:

At least two to four years of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
