Position Overview

In the role of Lead Appian Application Developer, you will be tasked with crafting innovative technical solutions within a structured timeline. Your focus will be primarily on development, collaboration with business stakeholders, and system architecture, while also overseeing outsourced development efforts. This is a full-time, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the authority on the architecture and deployment of Appian and related IT solutions.
  • Ensure all developed solutions comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collect and analyze user requirements to translate them into actionable IT solutions.
  • Document and prioritize requirements in Jira, ensuring they are well-architected for efficient development.
  • Design and implement data models.
  • Integrate with third-party platforms to create cohesive IT solutions.
  • Develop and enhance Appian applications.
  • Facilitate data accessibility for company users to improve business processes.
  • Oversee the work of outsourced development teams.
  • Create and manage project timelines to ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Research and implement new tools to streamline application development.
  • Conduct thorough testing of all deployments prior to launch.
  • Address and resolve bugs reported by end users in real-time.
  • Manage system capacity to optimize investment in Appian and other platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, training materials, and tools for global accessibility.
  • Manage the relationship with Appian, including contract discussions with executive support.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A well-rounded technology professional with extensive experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Appian development (Appian Lead Developer certification preferred).
  • More than 5 years of SQL expertise.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Python.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an agile development environment.
  • Experience with identity management systems (single sign-on).
  • Proven leadership in guiding development teams towards efficient practices.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a knack for innovative solutions.
  • Preferred: Over 5 years of Java development experience, particularly with Appian plugins.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster or PMP.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Appian Portals.
