Position Overview:

The Senior AI Solutions Architect will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the modernization of their operations by leveraging cloud technologies, implementing data standards, and developing data architectures that are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). This position involves the application of artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing, and shared analytics services to enhance life sciences research and healthcare transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster relationships and lead initiatives related to AI-ready data, AI-enabled data pipelines, and Responsible AI.
  • Design and implement on-premises and cloud-based AI solutions to facilitate research and public health initiatives.
  • Process extensive datasets using AI or machine learning (ML) technologies, applying advanced theories and principles to solve complex challenges.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to drive business growth and maintain robust client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop a diverse team of data scientists, ML engineers, and domain experts, focusing on talent attraction and retention.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in architecting and developing cloud solutions that empower data scientists to deploy AI models effectively.
  • Strong background in designing and supporting high-performance computing environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Expertise in AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.
  • Experience in implementing FAIR data principles within architectural designs.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and projects.
  • Background in health and life sciences consulting, particularly in support of government initiatives.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing projects related to healthcare data processing, including electronic health records and genomics, while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models and their applications.
  • Proven track record in developing and mentoring staff across various levels.
  • Experience in project and vendor management, along with client relationship development.
  • Certification as a Solutions Architect from a recognized Cloud Service Provider (CSP).

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
