Position Overview

In the role of Lead Appian Application Developer, you will be tasked with crafting innovative technical solutions within a structured timeline. The majority of your time, approximately 70-80%, will be dedicated to development activities, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and end users, as well as architectural planning. The remaining time will involve overseeing outsourced development efforts. This is a full-time, in-office position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the authority on architecting and deploying Appian and various IT solutions.
  • Ensure all developed solutions adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Collect user requirements and translate them into actionable IT solutions.
  • Document and prioritize requirements in Jira, ensuring they are well-architected and ready for efficient development.
  • Design and implement data models.
  • Integrate with third-party platforms to create cohesive IT solutions.
  • Develop solutions using the Appian platform.
  • Facilitate data accessibility for company users to enhance business process efficiency.
  • Supervise the output of outsourced development teams.
  • Create and manage a rollout schedule for functionalities, ensuring timely and budget-conscious project delivery.
  • Research and implement new tools to streamline application development processes.
  • Conduct thorough testing of all deployments prior to launch.
  • Address and resolve bugs reported by end users in real-time.
  • Manage system capacity to ensure optimal investment in Appian and other platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, training materials, and tools that are easily accessible and reusable across the organization.
  • Oversee the relationship with Appian, including contract discussions, with support from the COO.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • A well-rounded technology professional with extensive experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Appian development (Appian Lead Developer certification preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience with SQL.
  • 3 years of experience in Python programming.
  • 3+ years working in an agile development environment.
  • Experience with identity management implementations (single sign-on).
  • Proven track record of guiding development teams towards efficient solutions.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a knack for creative solutions.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of Java development experience, particularly with Appian plugins.
  • Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster or PMP.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Appian Portals.
