Position Overview
As a Lead Appian Application Developer, you will be at the forefront of crafting innovative technical solutions while adhering to a structured timeline. Your role will involve dedicating 70-80% of your time to development tasks, collaborating closely with business stakeholders and end users, and architecting solutions, while the remainder of your time will focus on overseeing outsourced development efforts. This is a full-time, in-office position.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the authority on architecting and deploying Appian and other IT solutions.
- Lead the assurance of HIPAA compliance for all developed solutions.
- Collect user requirements and translate them into actionable IT solutions.
- Ensure thorough documentation of requirements, prioritize tasks in Jira, and prepare them for efficient development.
- Design and implement data models.
- Integrate with third-party platforms to create seamless IT solutions.
- Develop and enhance Appian solutions.
- Facilitate data accessibility for company users to drive business process improvements.
- Oversee the production efforts of outsourced development teams.
- Create and manage a rollout schedule for functionalities, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- Research and implement new tools to streamline application development processes.
- Conduct comprehensive testing of all deployments prior to launch.
- Address and manage bugs reported by end users in real-time.
- Monitor system capacity utilization to ensure optimal investment in Appian and other platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation, training materials, and tools that are easily accessible and reusable across the organization.
- Manage the relationship with Appian, including contract negotiations with support from senior management.
Candidate Profile
- B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A well-rounded technology professional with a diverse skill set.
- Over 5 years of experience in Appian development (Appian Lead Developer certification preferred).
- More than 5 years of SQL experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with Python.
- 3+ years of experience in an agile development environment.
- Experience with identity management implementations (single sign-on).
- Proven ability to guide development teams towards efficient development paths.
- A collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a knack for innovative solutions.
- Preferred: 5+ years of Java development experience, particularly in the context of Appian plugins.
- Preferred: Relevant certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster or PMP.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Appian Portals.
