Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of AI Development will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the modernization of their operations via cloud integration, establishment of data standards, and creation of data architectures that are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR). This position involves leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing to enhance analytics and visualization services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge strong relationships and spearhead initiatives related to AI-ready data, AI-enabled data pipelines, AI operations, Responsible AI, and high-performance computing.
  • Contribute to the development of both on-premises and cloud-based AI solutions aimed at advancing life sciences research and improving public health.
  • Process extensive datasets using AI or machine learning (ML) technologies, applying advanced theories and principles to tackle complex challenges.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership and drive business growth while maintaining robust client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop a diverse team of data scientists, ML engineers, and domain experts, fostering an inclusive environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in architecting and developing cloud solutions that empower data scientists to efficiently build and deploy AI models.
  • Expertise in designing and supporting high-performance computing environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong background in AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.
  • Experience in designing architectures that adhere to FAIR data principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams.
  • Experience in consulting within the health and life sciences sector, particularly with U.S. Government clients.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading projects that involve the ingestion, processing, storage, and analysis of healthcare data, including electronic health records and genomics, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models and their applications.
  • Experience in developing and mentoring staff at various levels, enhancing internal capabilities for delivering innovative analytics services.
  • Skills in project management, vendor management, and building client relationships.
  • Certification as a Solutions Architect from a recognized Cloud Service Provider (CSP).

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
