Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of AI Development will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through the modernization of their systems via cloud integration, the establishment of data standards, and the creation of findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR) data frameworks. This position emphasizes the application of artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing, and the provision of shared analytics and visualization services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster relationships and spearhead initiatives related to AI-ready data, AI-enabled data pipelines, AI operations, Responsible AI, and high-performance computing.
  • Assist in the development of both on-premises and cloud-based AI solutions aimed at accelerating research in life sciences, safeguarding public health, and revolutionizing healthcare.
  • Process extensive data sets using AI or machine learning (ML) technologies, applying advanced theories and principles to solve complex challenges.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership, drive market growth, and cultivate client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop a team of data scientists, ML engineers, and domain experts, while enhancing the firm's diversity and talent retention.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in architecting and developing cloud solutions that empower data scientists to deploy AI models at scale.
  • Expertise in designing and supporting high-performance computing environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Background in AI, encompassing ML, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.
  • Experience in designing architectures that align with FAIR data principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams.
  • Experience in consulting within the health and life sciences sector, particularly with U.S. Government entities.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading projects that involve the ingestion, processing, storage, and analysis of healthcare data, including electronic health records and genomics, while adhering to healthcare regulations.
  • Knowledge of Large Language Models and their applications.
  • Experience in developing and mentoring staff across various levels, fostering an internal capacity for high-quality analytics services.
  • Project management and vendor management experience, alongside skills in client relationship building.
  • Possession of a Solutions Architect certification from a Cloud Service Provider (CSP).

Clearance Requirements:

Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
