Role Responsibilities:

The Finance Business Partner (BP) will act as a key financial advisor for the Air & Space Forces (A&SF) organization. In this capacity, you will be the primary resource for daily financial management and business decision support, playing a vital role in optimizing MITRE's contributions to our government partners.

As the Finance BP, you will:

  • Serve as the trusted financial partner and mini-CFO for a designated customer organization, representing Finance comprehensively.
  • Lead finance functions that support the organization, maintaining awareness of program finance, invoicing, operations, and contracts.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving capabilities by collaborating across various functional teams to address issues from inception to resolution.
  • Establish a reputation as the go-to problem solver, assisting customers in navigating complex financial matters.
  • Engage with the broader Sector Finance team and other finance divisions to identify issues, brainstorm solutions, and implement strategies that align with customer and organizational needs.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with customer stakeholders, prioritizing favorable financial outcomes for both the customer and MITRE.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with MITRE Finance policies within the customer organization.
  • Collaborate with customers on long-term planning, aligning financial resources with strategic objectives.
  • Guide the development of business cases for major investments, ensuring financial sustainability under various scenarios.
  • Provide frameworks and data for forecasting and target setting, helping customers achieve realistic and accurate forecasts.
  • Analyze opportunities and risks to inform future forecasts and mitigate potential issues.
  • Assist customers in understanding their awarded work landscape while driving necessary processes for effective opportunity management.
  • Work with customers to create annual indirect budgets that reflect strategic priorities and align with enterprise strategies.
  • Deliver regular management reporting and analysis, focusing on business drivers and budget variances.
  • Communicate financial results effectively, utilizing visual narratives and concise action recommendations.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of finance and/or accounting experience within the US Government sector at a professional services firm, with a Bachelor's degree; or 3+ years with an MBA.
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for learning and applying creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to executing commitments.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to drive change.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and promote innovative ideas.
  • Flexible team player capable of working across various functional teams and organizational levels.
  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Deltek Cost Point, Tableau, and/or Cognos Analytics is preferred.
